Hi all,

I am James Ashcroft. I come from Liverpool, England, and like any northern boy I am a huge football fan. I spent 8 years at Liverpool F.C.'s Academy before moving onto Tranmere Rovers F.C. I spent a two-year apprenticeship at Tranmere for the 08/09 and 09/10 seasons. My time in football has taken me to some great stadiums around England and allowed me to play against some of the best talents involved in the English game today. Yet my footballing talent hasn't allowed me to fulfill the boyhood dream of playing professionally and I have now decided to take the path of journalism.

I am now simply writing blogs on my opinion of the beautiful game. I admit I am no Henry Winter but one day I hope to be better.

Until then I am just a sports fan, trying to get a long one blog at a time.
